Usami Naohachi the First
Established a Hyogu workshop exclusive to Hongwanji temple in front of Nishi Hongwanji, present address as 98 Sakaimachi, Hanayacho sagaru, Nishinakasuji-dori (Horikawa-dori), Shimogyo-ku. Had done restoring the portrait in Hongwanji, Hyousou work of the Head Priest's writing, Hyougu work of Fusuma and Shoji doors in the temples and studies and restoring portraits in the end temples and households in all over Japan.
1946 (Showa 21)
Usami Naohachi the 7th
Undertook preserving and restoring pictures on room partitions in Hongwanji based on the counsel of Supreme Commander MacArthur and was admitted to be a restoring worker.
1947 (Showa 22)
Was designated for an accommodation operator of Hongwanji portraits and art pieces for people.
1950 (Showa 25)
Opened a cultural properties preserving and restoring workshop mainly handling Hyousou work restoring in Kyoto National Museum after the constitution of the Law for the Protection of Cultural Properties.
1953 (Showa 28)
Dyeing department was also opened in the cultural properties preserving and restoring workshop.
1958 (Showa 34)
Participated in the formation of the Association for Conservation of National Treasures. Naohachi the 7th assumed the director.
1959 (Showa 35)
Naohachi the 7th assumed a councilor of Hongwanji.
1966 (Showa 41)
Naohachi the 7th received Medal with Purple Ribbon because he "has engaged in Hyousou restoring of National Treasures and Cultural Properties for long years, always tried to make research and develop new technique and contribute to preserving cultural properties therefore the achievement is remarkable."

1970 (Showa 45)
Was recognized as "Shinise" (shop of long standing) at the 100th Anniversary of Kyoto Prefecture.
1974 (Showa 49)
Established Usami Shokakudo Company Limited (capital 10,000,000 yen) changed from self-employment. Naoyuki Usami assumed a president. Usami Naohachi the 7th assumed a chairman.
1975 (Showa 50)
Naohachi the 7th passed away.
1978 (Showa 53)
Crown prince and princess
visited the National Treasure restoring workshop.
1980 (Showa 55)
Entrusted a member of steering committee because of establishment the cultural properties preserving and restoring workshop in Kyoto National Museum.
1981 (Showa 56)
Took charge of Hyogu working of Katsura Imperial Villa dismantling and repairing work. When the work had completed received a testimonial from Imperial Household Agency and imperial grant.
October Naoyuki Usami succeeded the name Naohachi and became Naohachi the 8th.
1982 (Showa 57)
Was recognized as "Shinise" (shop of long standing) of more than 100 years at the 100th Anniversary of Kyoto Chamber of commerce.
Assumed the chairman of Restoring Workers Consultation of Cultural Properties Preserving and Restoring Workshop in Kyoto National Museum (to 1993).

1988 (Showa 63)
New office building has completed.
1990 (Heisei 2)
President Usami Naohachi received Achievement Award for long time cultural properties restoring from Kyoto Cultural Properties Protection Fund Foundation in March and Education Minister Award for achievement in promoting local culture in November.
1993 (Heisei 5)
Was recognized as a good declaration company by Shimogyo Tax Office.
1996 (Heisei 8)
President Usami Naohachi received honorary The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays at the spring conferment ceremony on April 29th. Besides the present post a member of steering committee of the cultural properties preserving and restoring workshop in Kyoto National Museum, councilor of Hongwanji, the director of the Association for Conservation of National Treasures.
2002 (Heisei 14)
Naohachi the 8th assumed the counsel.
Naohide Usami assumed the president.
2006 (Heisei 18)
The workshops in the Kyoto National Museum became independent companies, now they are not under the main office in front of Nishi Hongwanji. To the present.
